Happy Hallows Day!

If last night was Hallows Eve, then... today would be Hallows Day, right? Last night was a lot of fun, despite the fact that yesterday was full of stress. This is the third year in a row that Stephen and I got our costumes the day of. We went shopping earlier in the month but couldn't find the appropriate wig/beard for a Hagrid costume. We looked at many places. (As for me, I put off getting my costume altogether because I thought since I wanted to be Mcgonnagal from Harry Potter the traditional black witch's hat and cape would be easy enough. Apparently so did every one else in the Provo/Orem area.) So Stephen ended up going as an undercover CIA agent in Pakistan dressed as an Arab. I went as Carmen Miranda, fruit basket head and all, and James was a clown. We were ridiculously late to the Halloween Party, due to the fact that I had a mental breakdown at Savers (yes, over the fact that I couldn't find a costume!! Have a problem with that?) But when we got to the party we had a lot of fun. (For pictures and more particulars as to the party we went to click here.)
We also took some pictures:

If it helps, my last mental breakdown occured on St. Patrick's Day, when my THIRD attempt at Irish soda bread failed as spectacularly as my first two attempts. I remember dumping it all in the garbage and bawling in the kitchen in front of a horrified Karl and Camryn. I'm not sure which was worse--crying over bread, or seeing the fear and uncertainty in Camryn's eyes. It definitely sobered me up in a jiffy. But I still don't think I'll be attempting Irish soda bread anytime soon!

(A tip: when in doubt, blame it ALL on hormones. It's amazing how quickly things settle down when you're no longer breastfeeding!)

He is so chunky!!! Cutest clown ever. Your outfit looks great; despite your breakdown, it all worked out. We had a blast in Seattle, missed you much! Scarlett was a pink cheetah. Ian and I were ourselves. Ha.

I loved your Carmen Miranda costume. And James made a darling clown, even if he looks way too sober in the pictures. Of course, come to think of it, clowns' smiles are always painted on.

I'm a BYU grad myself! You make a great Carmen Miranda with that fruit basket on your head.
