James' Potty Update

I know all of y'all are wondering about Disneyland, and how our vacation went last weekend, but I'm sick right now and I don't feel like typing up all the info and uploading all the pix because that would take forever! Plus, I'm sick and we just got back today, so I'll do it later this week. But... James had a potty breakthrough today! Stephen and I were in the bathroom when James walks in picks up his potty seat and sets it on the potty. So, Stephen asks him if he needs to go pee pee. He says "yeah." So he helps him take off his diaper and sit up on the potty. With a little fatherly guidance as to where to aim, James then goes pee pee!!! AND he was the one to initiate the whole thing. There have been times in the past, usually around bathtime, when I set James on the potty. Usually when I see him start to go in the bathtub, and I put him on the toilet seat in time to pee in the potty. But him wanting to go on his own, huge breakthrough! I guess it's time to buy pullups now.

You lucky, lucky duck. Have him come over and pee at my house so Camryn will give it a try herself!!!

And I have a sore throat, too. YUCK. Traveling always leaves me sick!!!

Oh I wish my daughter would do that. She's 2 1/2 and we've attempted to potty train twice.

Thanks for following my blog!

I am sorry that you are sick. I think that we must all be fighting the same thing. I guess if it had to happen, it is better that we all got sick at the end of the week instead of at the beginning. I hope everyone is feeling better soon. I can't wait to see your pictures!

That's great! Not to burst your bubble, it may take awhile for him to consistently use the potty. Especially for number 2. But the fact that he's initiating it is very encouraging. Scarlett went pee in the potty at 2, but wasn't completely trained until 3. So don't get discouraged if there's a regression, just offer it as much as possible! And boo on you being sick, vacations always seem to do that.
